Google Slides: Pros and Cons

So I made a project about the Zodiac Killer using Google Slides and I was asked to say what I thought about the service. The main pro of Google Slides is that it’s easy to learn how to use it and the service is very accessible. Anyone can make a google slide, it’s very simple and straight forward. Google Slides can be done on any device you can think of, Phones, tablets, computers, if you have a device that can’t run google slides then it’s probably 30 years 0ld. However, this leads to my biggest problem with Slides, the app version of Slides is completely neutered compared to the computer version. You can’t add YouTube videos, you can’t add sound files, and you can’t slide transitions. Heck, you can’t even chance the color of the actually slides in the app, you know, the most basic and common form of editing is unable in the app, WHAT? However, after all is said and done, is the Google Slides still good? And answer is Yes, but because this I gonna give two rating. The computer version is going to be a 4 out of 5 as it good service but now perfect and for the app, I’m giving it a 2.5 out of 5 because it really is neutered. Thanks for reading, have a good day! -Andrew H.

Lego Coding 0: The Disc that wouldn’t play

Today, Gunner and I were finally able to start our Lego Coding adventure

But, first we had to watch a video about Lego coding

BUT, we didn’t have the disc, thankfully Mrs. Ide had one

We were able to get it after 2nd lunch and we were able to watch it, and that what I would say if we had a computer that could run it

Yeah, we have thousands of dollars worth in laptops and yet not a single one has a disc player, go figure

We hope we will be able to watch it next class.

Sphero 5: The End

Today was the last day I got to anything Sphero related.

I did a short video project on my work with Sphero, the class seemed to enjoy it.

So, I would like a moment of silence, for our friend, Sphero

….

he might be missed

Anyway, Now I going to be programming legos…. somehow…..

See you next time guys.

Sphero 4-D: The Circle Chronicles 2/1

Well, I didn’t expect this

Something happened to the obstacles course so I had to start the coding ALL OVER AGAIN! I am, of course, a little upset about this. So starting all over again, It went faster than last time because I actually knew what I was doing this time. But, luckily, I got Sphero to move through the obstacles course. And I can finally move on to the next project…… is what I would say if I was actually done. Apparently I have to get the ball to reset itself at the beginning of course so it can keep going in a loop. Sadly, I am not a magical wizard that can do everything, so I couldn’t get the ball to reset itself today. Might be able to do it next class but I’m not sure.

Will Andrew be able to get the ball to the start? Can Andrew finally be able to move on to something else? Does this toe look infected to you? Find out next time in Sphero 4 1/2: The Curse of the WereBall!

Sphero 3: The Revenge 1/27

Today, we actually managed to get Sphero through the obstacles course! And I would love to tell all you how happy I am that we actually did it, but sadly, that’s not the end of Sphero. Apparently, now I have to get Sphero through the obstacles course so now I have to code the ball, from scratch, and then I’ll be done. So, I coded the ball a little bit and I think I might be able to finish coding it next class, I hope. I’ll see you in Sphero 4!

Sphero 2: The Ball who could do it, but not right now…. 1/25

So, Today we were told what we had to do Sphero, we need to build an obstacle course for the ball to go through. We went around the school getting recycling to make an obstacle course for Sphero to go through. We end up with a decent amount of supplies and we started building the course. It pretty small now but we hope we can make it more interesting. The way we need to get Sphero to move is by coding it, which of course means we’re doing a bunch of trial and error. We didn’t finish the course today but I’m hoping that tomorrow we will finish it.

PS. I, sadly, forgot to get a photo of the obstacle course, so here is one of Sphero on his charger…….. I’m sorry

Sphero: The Living Ball! 1/24

We have been signed a little ball called Sphero, a ball that can be controlled manually or by coding it! (Guess what way we need to control it) Its so cool, being able to control something from far away is always an awesome toy but not having to use a big bulky controller is nice. We didn’t do much with it through, we mostly goofed around with it.
